General -  Some nice people out there....

An order came in over the weekend and when I saw the title, my heart sank as I knew my last copy (had two copies) had sold quite some time ago. A very obscure book fetching quite a high price from an author living out in the Indian Ocean. No copies available anywhere else on the net.

Last night I suddenly decided to email the author. This morning I have an email to say book is on its way; total cost quite acceptable, please send cheque.....

Now that is what I call exceptional service from the author, who I have to admit, wasn't sure would reply.

The book was posted before I had even paid, but yes, it is nearly always my practice to order extra copies. He has two books out so I will "do a deal" with him once this order is out of the way.

Mind you, I ordered half-a-dozen copies of a very obscure religious book from an author in the US and received some complimentary DVDs from him. I watched about five minutes of one then binned them !!!! I would probably have got arrested if I had tried to sell them.

They had been made in connection with that particular religion/cult which is based very loosely on Moses. Not pleasant watching and most definitely not available in this country, nor anywhere else that I can find.

Gill,

Nice one!

A splendid illustration of the old salesman's mantra,

"If you do not ask, you will not receive!"

Yours, obviously not asking hard enough,

Glen.
