I don't think even Amazon knows as at the bottom of this page it says-

© 1996-2003, Amazon.com, Inc. or its affiliates

It really doesn't bother me as I only post here to help some people every now and then and if they copy that then it doesn't matter. He seems to be doing this in a nice enough way. Yes he may make a penny off of it but it helps to pay for catfood.

Shopforhandtools,

Who are you to be using shopforhandtools?  That's pretty ignorant, considering I've got a trademark on shopforbiggertools.com.  Are you trying to confuse the people on this forum who are looking for bigger tools?

Barbara, can I use small claims court to force him to license his name from me?  Are there any other ways I can protect my trademark from thieves like this?  I really appreciate all your other legal advice here, it's the only thing that really made sense. I took a law course once but it was really confusing. I'm sure glad there are legal eagles like you here to help out.

You mean I can't keep my domain name??  Can't you let me use it somehow? I'll have to call my cousin's husband - he's a lawyer...

What kind of tools are you selling? I'm just doing handtools and woodworking books.

Does her site offer free links just for making comments about her website?  That's kind of cool.

And besides, the stats >are< late again today, probably just like they were that day. Is everyone so upset because it's against the terms of service for anyone to talk about late stats anywhere other than here?

Seems like her site has provided everyone something to do other than think about how the stats monkey could be late because he's too busy hiding our beans under the other coconuts while we are busy debating this announcement's attempt to help us deal with our frustrations in a sensitive way.

Whoever you are, I thought the cambridge spelling widget was cool, I'd heard about that study. So please feel free to post a link to my site, ok?

This is becoming time consuming...LOL.  It seems to me, in my vast ignorance, that for anyone to own a copyright on a sentence, they'd have to show that they were the first to utter it, but what do I know.

I guess no one likes to be the butt of a joke, can't blame you.  But geez, we aren't talking important literary works here...

Context plays a part here. The material quoted could not have come from anyone but the people on this board. That couldn't be more obvious, otherwise no one here would have gotten my point in the original post. It was immediately recognizable. Also, it would be easy enough to find that thread on this board, proving that the material originated here.

I would have thought anyone with an ounce of integrity would have the decency to ask people if they could use what they had written. If it's so unimportant, common, and generic, then why not invent your own "conversation?" It would be easy to create a dialog to demonstrate the point he was making. It's called writing.

Whatever... I guess I expected people in the same affiliate "boat" would have more respect for each other. Silly me.

shopforhandtools-us:

Well, if perhaps you agreed to a disclaimer on every page of your site that says you are not in any way associated with our site, and that our site is the first shopforbiggertools in the world, and that shopforbiggertools.com is our trademark, and a clickable link to our home page (but no deeper page so that our important Amazon easylinks that we have to place on the home page get bypassed), maybe we could allow you to continue using our domain name that you registered for a small cash settlement.

Otherwise, there is a BIG chance for confusion. We do help people with their wood working too. Our site is the world's favorite place for bigger tools like penises, breasts, trucks, and heavy construction equipment. Any tool anyone has, we'll try to help them get a bigger one, or make what they already have bigger.

I think they need to unite - create one site - split the profits. wegoteverythingbuttools.com
